The details of each renovation are what set us apart from our competitors. We do four coats of plaster to ensure all drywall seams are fully covered before sanding.

curving bulkheads

To build a curving bulkhead, we design top and bottom tracks to match a specific profile. We use metal framing to make sure our framing is straight and strong.

curved drywall

To curve drywall, the framing must have a gradual transition. For tighter curves, we install studs every 4 inches to reduce the chances of the drywall cracking.

commercial drywaller

Commercial drywall is similar to residential drywall. Some differences include the type of framing as well as the fire rating of the wall assembly.

Perfect drywall

Drywall is an art that is difficult to master. Every seam and screw hole should be invisible. We check for imperfections with a light prior to applying primer.

City Hall Before

This picture is of the framing before we started drywall installation. The arch above the door was an extra that we included in our scope of work to mimic the existing window arches that were no longer visible due to the reduced ceiling height over the years. The mayor asked us if there was any way to preserve the architectural details of the arches around the windows, but unfortunately the ceiling height had already been planned. Instead, we did a small arch around the 115 year old vault door.

City Hall After

This is the arch that we framed and drywalled in Pembroke at their City Hall. The mayor was pleasantly surprised to see that we kept the vault door from the original Post Ofiice and accented it with an arch that fits in with the style of the building

Commercial-construction-Ottawa

In 2012, we completed a four month project inside Pembroke City Hall. This original vault door was supposed to be removed but was preserved due to the fact that it was part of the Heritage Building. The building was constructed in 1889, and received many renovations over the past 125 years. Our scope of work included framing, drywall installation and finishing, suspended ceiling installation, window jamb extension and window casing installation, sub-floor installation and door installation.

Crown-Moulding

Custom crown moulding was installed around the perimeter of the ceiling in the public area inside City Hall in Pembroke. We had to frame a 2x3 wall above the crown moulding to attach the top of the part of the trim. There is a 5/8 gap between the crown moulding and the drop ceiling, and above the crown moulding there is a black painted reveal that gives the illusion that there is just empty space above the crown moulding. We had to fabricate each piece of crown moulding with a router table.
